The throat chakra is all about sound, communication and words. It is the first of the three upper chakras and is located at the front of the throat and back of the neck, it is the virtual link between your head and your body. The throat chakra is also connected to the mouth, sinuses, shoulders and importantly the thyroid. As the throat chakra is about communication then there is also the connection to the ears and listening; in order to communicate well, you must be able to listen as well as project your own words.
